A Card & Some Dots

I hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday. We actually have sunshine today. I know miracles happen..haha. I thought I would drop in with a fun little card I did last night. I just love the retro feel of this. I am having so much fun with these vases. I love to paper piece anyways and these are perfect for that.

In a few of my past posts I have mentioned these great dimensional dots that I've been using. My brother brought these to me awhile back. They use this material at his work and he thought I might be able to find a crafty use for them. I did!! I've found they work great for card making. They are amazing! They add just a touch of dimension. I love using them with my regular foam dimension because it gives you two different heights. I've decided to sell them on my Etsy store so be sure to stop by and take a look. Trust me you'll love them as much as I do!

Here they are all baged up and ready to be shipped out. There are approximately 1000 in that bag..believe it or not.
This gives you an idea of the size.
Here you can see the height difference.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day.

I Can Do That

I was viewing blogs the other day looking for some inspiration. I came a cross this adorable card. I was reading what supplies were used and was bummed to find out she used a Silhouette. Of course..isn't that how it always works? No matter what machine(s) you have, it's never the right one. So after looking at the card for awhile I suddenly had this great idea. I can do this myself. I have put together a little tutorial incase you want to give it a try. My hubby told me to do a video...hahaha..he is so funny.

Here is the card that inspired me. Shari Carroll created this card using Hero Art stamps and digital die cuts.

And here is my card.

I just love when I have an idea and it actually works. It took a few tries but I finally got it. Here is what I did.
I cut out my square using my
Big Shot and a Spellbinder die.
I didn't want the stem from the
flower to go to the edge of my paper.
I covered the bottom edge of my
square with a piece of scrap then
stamped my flower.

Here it is with the scrap paper pulled
away.

I did a couple of lines around the flower
to give it a frame.

Using a craft knife I cut out the spaces
between the flower and the frame. I also
stamped a second flower and cut out
just the center.

I colored the flower and the extra center
with my Copic markers.

I hope you like my creation. If you decide to give it a try let me know. I would love to see what you come up with.

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 126

I'm back today with another challenge card. This one is for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 126. I just loved this sketch. As soon as I saw it I knew I had to give it a try.

For my card I used a stamp set from Flourishes called Gerbera Daises. This image is so beautiful and looks great just stamped or colored. The stamp set comes with two sizes of this image. I  used the smaller of the two.  I stamped the flowers with VersaMark ink on the vertical banner. I love this look. It was just enough to pull the card together.

Thank you for stopping by and I'll see you soon.

Happy Birthday Brother-In-Law

Hi everyone! I hope you are enjoying your Saturday. We had rain again last night here in Oregon. What is up with this weather? Anyways...tonight we are going to dinner to celebrate my brother-in-law's cough...cough...51st birthday...cough...cough. So of course I made him a card. You know the kind...the dreaded guy cards. For the 4th I made this card Happy 4th of July using the calander bases and like how it turned out.  I bought several packs of them and thought I should probably use them. They are only good for this year you know.

Here is his card. My daughter gave me high praises for this one and that always makes me feel good. There is just something about the approval of those you love.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.

Life Is Better

Summer is keeping me very busy these days. I've managed to pull together a couple of cards for some challenges, but not much else. In fact I was the winner of the ColourQ #92 challenge...my very first challenge win. I was on cloud 9 all day. So with life so busy I've gone deep into my card stash for this post.

I made this card awhile back. I just love these cute little birds...sweet things don't you think? This card could be used for so many different occasions and people...anniversay, friend, family..the list just goes on and on.

Thanks for stopping by.

On A Roll

It feels good to sit down and play again. Last night my daughter was out with friends and the hubby went to bed early. So you all know what that means...me time! I did another first time challenge for me. I've kinda felt like I've miss-placed my mojo somewhere...so what better way to try to find it then with a Mojo Monday challenge.

Here is my card. You know how much I love dimension. So of course, I had to add some to this card too. The block that the It's Your Day is stamped on was attached with the ones I got from my brother. See post here A Little Thank You. The flowers were attached with my regular foam dimensions.

You can see the differance in the thickness here.
That's it for now. I'm heading outside to work in the yard. Enjoy your day.
