ColourQ #108

Time for this weeks ColourQ Challenge. Once again they went with Halloween colours. I decided again this week that I was going to create something that wasn't Halloween.
Here is what I came up with. I just got the On My Couch set from PTI and love it. I've been looking at it for awhile and finally got it. What a fun set. I wish I wouldn't have waited so long to get it. The couch and chair are perfect for paper piecing. For this card I stamped the chairs on my various colors of cardstock. Then I stamped the dots with Versamark Ink.

Just Because

My last several posts have been for challenges. I thought it was time to post a card just because. I was looking through my basket of cards tonight trying to decide what to post. I have a lot more cards them I thought I did. So I have a nice little stack of them sitting here so I make sure I post them. So be sure to check back because there will be more to come.

Here is what I decided on for today's post. A quick and easy card. I just love the Flower Fusion sets from PTI. They are so much fun.

Thanks for stopping by,

PTI Blog Hop

Hello everyone, here we are..the 25th already. That means its Blog Hop day over at Papertrey Ink. This month is another photo inspiration.  I'm posting then heading off to work. That darn work always seems to get in the way. Maybe I can sneak a quick look during the day..shhhh. So I have a little story to tell. When I saw the inspiration photo I knew what I wanted to do. A few years back I made a pumpkin card for Halloween. I looked EVERYWHERE for the pattern...heck I even had my hubby looking. In the middle of the night I had this bright idea. Moms keep everything their kids make them right? Yep..she still had the card. So I gently took it apart so I could trace it and then put it back together.
Here is the inspiration.
 Here is my card.

Here is the original card. I think I made this in either 2007 or 2008.

Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy your day and all the amazing creations.

Just Add Color

I'm back again tonight with another challenge card. This one is for the CAS-ual Fridays challenge...Just Add Color.
I don't know about you, but I save everything from the smallest piece of paper to things I  made and ended up not using. I even save all of the extra pieces I get when I die cut something. You just never know when you might be able to use it. That's what happened when I sat down to work on my card. The first thing I always do is look through my "extra" pieces.  Look what I found! I colored this image last Fall and didn't use it.

To create the pattern on the bottom half of the card I used one of the oval stamps from my Little Labels set from PTI using VersaMark ink. I created the sentiment using one of the many great free fonts from Fonts For Peas. I typed what I wanted in the middle of my word document and printed it on printer paper. Then I lined my card up so the sentiment would be where I wanted it. I taped the card front down faceing up and ran it back through my printer. It's important to make sure the leading edge is taped down good. This is a great way to customize your cards to say whatever you want.

ColourQ #107

I'm stopping in really quick tonight. My computer is having some issues so my husband is working on it. That means I'm working from his. All of my files etc. are on mine so this post has been a little bit of a challenge to get done. I'm here to post my card for this weeks ColourQ challenge. I'm sure you're like me, and the first thing you thought of was Halloween when you saw these colors. I was determined to use these colors and not make a Halloween card.

Here is my card..and it's not a Halloween card. Funny thing is when I was trying to decide what stamps to use,  I kept reaching for my Halloween set. I kept telling myself no...put it back...haha. I finally settled on this great set from PTI. I love this stamp set. These flowers are so fun to stamp and cut out.

Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you soon,

No Orange & Fall Fun

Hi everyone. I'm stopping in today with my card for the CAS-ual Friday's challenge. This week they challenged us to make a Halloween card with no orange.

Here is my card...no orange. It was kind of weird making a Halloween card with no orange. It's just automatic to reach for that color. I'm expecting them to challenge us in December to make a Christmas card with no red...haha.

And now for some Fall fun. The family, along with our daughter's boyfriend went to one of our local pumpkin patches today. We had a great time. The weather was a little warm..almost 80...I know not your normal Fall weather.  Here are a few picture from our day.

Trying to find our way out of the corn maze.

The pumpkin launcher.

Aiming for the van.
See you soon,

ColourQ #106

I'm stopping in really fast before we go to dinner to post my card for this weeks ColourQ challenge. Do these colors say Halloween or what? I tried several different ideas and I just kept coming back to Halloween. So I decided...why fight it.

Here is my spooky card.

Yep, I cut out the house. You know me and my dimension dots. For my clouds I used the negatvie from my PTI cloud die as a mask. I inked up my dobber with some black ink and gently added the ink until I got the darkness I wanted. I colored the house with Copics in variouse shades of grey.

Thanks for stopping by.

A Heart Out Of Hearts

Happy Sunday to you. I hope you are enjoying your day. The weather is starting to change here in Oregon. The mornings are brisk with the sun shinning in the afternoons. Fall in the air and I'm loving it. I was up way to late last night (2:00) playing. I know crazy, but I was having so much fun. I was working on a card for the Less Is More challenge. A single layer card with hearts.  I couldn't find any heart stamps and loved what Mandi did so I wanted to give it a try. As I was pulling out every small flower stamp I could find, I found hearts! Flower Fusion # 7 set from PTI has flowers that have hearts for the petals. I still wanted to try what Mandi did. Here is my card.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

ColourQ Take Two

I'm back today with another card for the ColourQ # 105 challenge. I don't normally post two cards to the same challenge. When I was working on the first card I entered..see my previous post..I had all kinds of left over pieces. Well, I couldn't let them go to waist now could I?

 Here is card #2.

Take A Closer Look

Okay, I really need to look closer at what's around me. I cracked up when I saw the color challenge over at ColourQ this week. My daughter has a pillow with this exact pattern on it. Why did it take a challenge for me to create a card with these amazing colors?

As soon as I saw this I knew exactly what I wanted to do. Well...okay, part of what I wanted to do. I knew I had to use my Background Basics: Vines from PTI and I knew I was going to color in the leaves. The rest just fell into place..love when that happens.

There She Goes

Happy Thursday! I'm stopping in really fast tonight to post my card for the There She Goes challenge. There is an Oregon Duck football game on in 10 minutes. I can do this!

When I saw the colors that Debby picked for this weeks challenge I was so excited. I just love these colors together. In fact I did another challenge with similar colors not that long ago.

When I started to work on the card I had no intentions of it being a sympathy card. Everytime I looked at it that was just what came to mind. I even held the card up to my daughter and asked her what came to mind when she looked at the card. She had the same response I did...so a sympathy card it is.

I stamped the Mums on the base first then stamped them again on another piece of paper then cut them out. You all know how much I love my dimension dots..here they are again. I just love that little extra touch they add to my cards. I stamped the Houndstooth in VersaMark and finish the card off with a satin bow (more of my $1.00 a roll bargain ribbon).

Well, thanks for stopping by, I'm off to watch some Duck football!

Time For A Little Play Date

Happy Sunday, I hope all of you had a nice relaxing day. I'm back today with a card I made yesterday for the Play Date Cafe challenge. This week the challenge is to create something based on
Wine...Smudge...Leather...Parchment

Here is what I came up with.

I had so much fun making this card. It was one of those that you see in your mind and when you start to create it just flows. I used my Music Sheet stamp set and stamped it  in brown and then distressed it. On the Scarlet Jewel paper I stamped the smudge image from the My Hero My Dad  set in VersaMark. I did the same technique on the bells that I did on this card.  To finish it off I added some pearls to the centers of the flowers and a bow. I think this is the card I'm going to make to send out this year. It's a little more time consuming but I really like it.

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy World Card Making Day

I hope all of you are having a great WCMD. In honor of the day I spend most of it right where I was supposed to...crafting. What a wonderful way to spend a Saturday. I think every Saturday should be WCMD. What do you think? I've been making cards for just over a year now. I love everything about the craft. As I grow and learn I have tried to make it a point to challenge myself more. To step outside of my regular crafting style, colors and so much more. Challenge blogs have been a huge part of this process. So today I wanted to say thank you to all of you who take the time to create these challenges. Because of you I've taken my card making to a whole new level.

Today I made several cards for various challenges. I will post more of them in the next few days, but here is my card for the Embellish Blog and the CAS-ual Fridays #22 challenges.

This card is a perfect example of what I was talking about. I would have never put these colors together. But, thanks to a great challenge I was able to step out and create this.

Here is a close up of the watering can. To get this look I inked up my stamp with my brown ink. Then I gently pulled the ink pad across the image. I love this look.

Well that's it for now. I'm off to see what else I can create. Thank you for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.
