ColourQ #126

I'm back tonight with my card for this weeks ColourQ. I just have to say these color brought back childhood memories. Lets see..the green was our carpet, the brown was our couch and the yellow was the kitchen floor and the star pattern on the countertops. Yes, I was born in the 70's..haha.

Here are this week fabulous colours.

Here is my card.

See you soon.

All In A Row

I was able to get in a little stamping time over the weekend. And I mean little. Everytime I sat down my daughter would call me into her room to show me something she found for the wedding. I think she pinned just about everything she saw. It's fun to see her so excited.

So on to my card. When this set was being shown by Maile she used these colors and I loved them. When I started on the card the butterflies were going to go across the card like she did. This is where one of the many interruptions comes in...I had these three stamped and got summond by my daugher..again. When I came back I looked at the card and decided I liked it with just the three butterflies.

Thanks for stopping by.

Liebster Blog Award

What a great way to start my day. I sign in this morning to find that Debbie has awarded me the Liebster Blog Award. Thank you so much Debbie.

Liebster' is German for 'dearest'. The award is a 'share-the-love' arrangement, given to inspirational bloggers with less than 200 followers.

Here's the to-do list of any Liebster award recipient:

1. Thank the giver and link back to the blogger who gave it to you.
2. Reveal your five blogger picks and let them know by leaving a comment on their blog
3. Copy and paste the award on your blog (see above)
4. Hope that those you award forward it to their favorite bloggers.

I spend way too much time going from blog to blog. There are a lot of talented crafters out there that help keep me motivated and inspired. To pick only 5 is really hard. Are you sure I can't just list everyone? haha.

Laurie -Soapbox Creations
Stephanie - Stamping & Sharing
Deb - My Craftroom Creations
Amy - Stamp -n- Paradise
Tiana  - Nurture The Love

These are just a few of my favorite. I have several that have already received this award so I decided to give it to those who haven't had it yet.

Keep the love moving.

An Engagement & A Birthday

Wow, what a weekend this has been. After 3 years of dating my daughter is getting married. Three weeks ago Donnie came and talked to my husband and me and asked for our blessing.  He decided he wanted to propose on their 3 year anniversary of dating. He took her to one of her favorite restaurants. She didn't even see it coming. Here are a couple of pictures I took the next day. We went back to the alley where it all took place.

The wedding won't be until next summer, thank goodness. We have spent all weekend looking and getting ideas of what she wants. Of course there will be lots of crafting involved. I get the honor of making their invitations and thank you cards. I can't wait.

Now onto the birthday. My soon to be son-in-law's birthday is next month. He's a HUGE coffee drinker..especially Dutch Bros. If you live on the West coast you've probably heard of them.

Here is his card.
I wanted to put the gift card under the "zipper". When I attached it to the card I didn't put any Score Tape on the right side so ofter it's unzipped he can get to the card. I get the feeling I'll be making lots of cards like this. So fun!

Thank you for stopping by today.

Papertrey Ink February Blog Hop

Papertrey's blog hop theme this month was an interactive card. I lucked out and my PTI order came yesterday. I couldn't wait to try out my new zipper die. It just so happens that a co-worker is having her 50th Birthday party tonight.

Here is the card I made for her. Under the zipper is says...It's your day & you should celebrate in every way! Can't wait to give it to her.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

ColourQ #125

It felt so good last week to do a challenge. When I saw the colours for this weeks ColourQ I knew I had to make a card using them. Have you seen these colours? Beautiful!! I wouldn't mind having that quilt either.
 Here is my card.

I love how it turned out. Getting the outline to line up was really hard. This was try number 5 and I finally just had to tell myself it was okay. I'm a perfectionist so this was hard for me...but I did it.
And of course I had to attach it with my favorite pop dots. They're just enough to give it a little something extra.

Thanks for stopping by today. See you soon.

Creative Background

I hope everyone enjoyed their President's Day. I had the day off but didn't get a chance to do any stamping. I was in my stamping "kloset" but I was cleaning it. Wow..it was a little out of control. It really needed to be organized and some things moved around. See, I'm kinda running out of room for my stamps. I know a great problem to have, right? So I made room for more :) Problem solved.

I do have a card to share with you today. It's one I made awhile back. I was messing around with different stamps trying to come up with some backgrounds. I pulled out my Modern Basics set and come up with this.

I stamped the large outline in Versamark Ink. If you look at the top of the card you can pick out the image better. When I stamped the second one I overlapped it to the middle of the first one I stamped and so on. I really like the effect I got.

Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you soon.

ColourQ #124

Wow...I haven't done a ColourQ challenge in a really long time. After working on some more card sets I decided to see what I could come up with. Here are the colors for this week.

I was looking through some of my cards the other day and noticed that most of them have flowers. So I wanted to create something that didn't have any. That wasn't the easiest task considering most of my stamps are flowers. Here is what I finally came up with.

Look...no flowers :) I love making the butterflies pop off the page. It adds so much to a card. I stamped each one with PTI's Mehndi Medallion stamp in Vintage Cream. They needed a little something. You can really see it on the red one.
Thanks for stopping by. See you soon.

Bouquet Of Flowers

I thought I would stop in really quick tonight and show you another card set I made. I got these super cute digital images from Pink Petticoat. I love how each watering can has a different pattern on it. The zebra print is my favorit for sure.

I printed each image and colored them with my Copics. Am I the only one that finds coloring relaxing? Seriously, I could color all night.  I added a couple of score lines and stamped the sentiment between them. I attached the card front to the card base using foam tape.

See you soon,

Moving On To Day 7

I'm back today for day 7 of the anniversary celebration at Papertrey Ink. With it being close to Valentine's Day for today's contest we are to create a card that incorporates hearts into it. I tend to not purchase too many seasonal stamps, so I had to dig to come up with something that was hearts.
I finally found one. Flower Fusion #7.

Love these cute little heart shaped petels. After I stamped the flowers I cut between the petals. Then I gently twisted each one going in the same direction around the flower. You can see it really good in the picture below. I attached the flowers with my favorite...pop dots. :) The small scallop is actually the heart boarder die from PTI. And of course..linen IP.
Well, thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day.

Papertrey Ink Day 6 Take Two

I had to day off today so I had more time to play along with todays contest over at Papertrey Ink. With 5 fabulous sketches to choose from I'm glad I had the time and was able to choose more then one.  For my second sketch I went with this one.
And here is card number 2. My daughter asked me this morning if I would make a card for a co-worker of ours that's leaving us in week. I had instructions to make it girly...but not too girly. The gal that's leaving is very earthy and natural so that ment no pinks, purples, etc. How did I do? There are no girly colors here.

Thanks for stopping by,

Papertrey Ink Day 6

I'm back again today for day 6 over at Papertrey Ink. For todays contest they provided us with 5 sketches to choose from. Here is the sketch I decided to use.
Here is my card. I used these colors the other day for another contest and liked them so much I decided to use them again. I'm loving the new Kraft ink from PTI. I tried several times to add the stitching and it was a major failure. My machine isn't working so I'm using my mom's machine that used to be my great grandma's. So needless to say...it's not the most up to date machine and I went around and around with it and finally said forget it...haha. Maybe someday I'll get mine fixed.

See you soon,

Day 5 At Papertrey Ink

Well here we are at day 5 of Papertrey Inks Anniversary week.  What a great few days this has been. There have been amazing announcements, great sneek peeks and challenges that have sure challenged me.

Today Papertrey announced that they are now on Pinterest. I'm not sure if that's good or bad...haha. Don't get me wrong, I love my Pinterest...and I love my Papertrey Ink too. So the idea of having both in the same place is great, but now I'll never get anything done around here. You know, you sit down for just a few minutes to have a quick look and before you know it, it's been two hours. I know you all know what I'm talking about.

So for the challenge today we were to choose an inspirational pin and create a card. Not an easy task in itself let me tell you. I got some great ideas pinned now..and more then just the one needed for today.

Here is my pick for today. I love these colors together. If I was a teenager again this would totaly be my room. I don't think I could talk my hubby into this.

 Here is my card.
See you soon,

Day 4 At Papertrey

Well it's already day 4 over at Papertrey Ink and I have to say..it just gets better with each day. I'm so thankful I've been saving up for this event because I'm going to need it. They are coming out with some amazing new products. Can't wait to get my little hands on them.

So for todays celebration event the design team posted what their favorite color combo is. We are to choose one and great a card of our own. Wow...there are some beautiful combos. Some of these I would never think to put together. I decided to go with Lisa's colors today.
Love..love...love these colors together. The softness of the three with the pop of red is amazing. As soon as I got home from work I sat right down. Of course my original idea just didn't work for me..so back to the drawing board I went. I don't work well under pressure..haha. I think I pulled out every set I had and kept thinking I could do this...and I could do that...but no..I only have a few minutes to do this. Here is what I finally came up with.

It's not the most original card I've made but I like how it turned out.

Thanks for stopping by.

Papertrey's 5th Anniversary

I always look forward to the 5th of each month. It signals the beginning of the monthly countdown of new products at Papertrey Ink. This month is different because it's their 5th Anniversary. This means lots of fun posts, challenges and much more. I discovered PTI about 2 years and fell in love with their style right away. Nicole and the rest of the team are amazing. They have challenged me in my own creativity and I have learned so much.

To start off the festivities the design team posted their favorite creation and a list of their top five PTI items. The challenge is for us to gather inspiration from one of these and create something of our own. That was a challenge all in itself. After looking them all over I decided to go with this creation from Dawn.
This is way outside my normal comfort zone. I have several PTI tag dies, but have never used them on a card. Here is my card.

Have a great day and I'll see you soon.

Inspired By Amber

When I saw this card set that Amber did it took my breath away. The colors are so bright and cheerful, and I loved the way she added dimention to the flowers by added that extra pop of color.

Here is a set I made using this same technique but with a different stamp set. I used some of the flowers from PTI's Beautiful Blooms II.
Here is a front view of one of the cards. I cut a piece of card stock 3 1/4 by 4 1/4 to stamp the flowers on. To give myself an empty space to add the sentiment I made a 1 inch mask.  When I was done stamping and the mask was removed I used my Copic markers to add the touches of extra color.
You can't see it very well in the picture, but I added a score line to the top and bottom of my sentiment strip.  I love this technique and I'm sure you will be seeing more cards in the near future using it.

Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you soon.

Deanna

Inks used: Plum Berry, Shabby Pink and Tangerine by Color Box and Simply Chartreuse by PTI . Copics used: YR04, BV23, YG13 and RV32.
