Dynamic Duos #9

My internal clock needs to learn when it's the weekend. I was up bright and early at 6:30. While the family was still asleep, I took advantage of the quit time and create a few things. One of my favorite things to do on Saturday morning it check out the new challenges. Dynamic Duos has a great color combo this week. Crumb Cake and a color of your choice. I don't have Crumb Cake so I used kraft and after a lot of back and forth finally decided to pair it with Aqua Mist.

I stamped the flags on a seperate piece of cardstock and cut them out. I attached them and the white panel with my dots for a little dimension.

Thanks for stopping by,

Deanna

DeNami Release Sneak Peeks Day 2

Welcome to day two of the DeNami sneak peeks! Didn't you just love all those super cute chickies yesterday? If you missed them be sure to stop by Lisa and Emily's blogs as well as DeNami's and take a look. Today I'm being joined by Deb and Wendy to give you a sneak peek at the Winter Elegance stamps. Let's get started.

For my first card I kept it very CAS. This would be a great card to mass produce for your Christmas cards. I cut the square using a Spellbinders die. I added just a touch of color to the sprig with Copic markers and added the Christmas Wishes sentiment. I stamped both of these high enough on the square to give me room for the twine bow. I finished by adding some texture to the kraft cardstock.

Next is a card I did using the new snowflake stamp. I created a space for my Christmas Wishes sentiment by cutting a piece of printer paper and putting it across my card to create a mask. Then I randomly stamped the snowflake being sure that some of them went over the mask. I added some light blue color with a Copic marker. To finish it off I added a score line on the top and bottom of my masked area and added a jute bow.

For this card I used a Spellbinders die and cut a square in my Desert Orange cardstock. I stamped this beautiful image on the white card base then colored it with my Copics and added a few pearls to make it more elegant. I added the Thinking Of You sentiment then attached the Desert Orange cardstock to my white card base with foam tape.

For my final card, I wanted to show you how you can take the beautiful image I used on the previous card, and make something more elaborate with it. When I first saw this stamp the first thing I thought of was Folk Art. I went online and found some images and pulled my colors from there. I had so much fun creating this pattern. I didn't want to take away from the pattern with my sentiment so I created a side panel with Leaf Green paper and stamped the Happy Birthday virtical.

Don't forget about the amazing giveaways! You have two chances to win each day. Paulina will randomly be picking one comment from the DeNami blog as well as one comment from the blogs featured today. So be sure to leave a comment here on my post, as well as Deb and Wendy's. Somebody is going to get lucky and receive some fabulous stamps!

Well that's it for me...wow that was a lot of information. Be sure to stop by DeNami tomorrow for day three of the sneak peeks.

Exciting News

I'm so excited to finally be able to tell all of you my wonderful news. I have been asked to join the DeNami design team!! I about fell out of my chair and I know I let out a squeal when I read the email from Paulina. I am so excited to be part of an amazing team of ladies. There are a couple of other very talented ladies joining the design team. I'm sure a lot of you will recognize them. Head over to the DeNami blog to see Paulina's announcement.

My first official post will be Wednesday where I will be giving you a sneak peek at some of the amazing stamps that will be released in July. The sneak peeks start on Tuesday and there will be two giveaways each day so be sure to stop by and join in on the fun!

To kick off my design team announcement I wanted to share a super fun card I created using the Spring Butterfly stamp.

I stamped the butterfly on my card base. I stamped a second butterfly on another piece of paper and fussy cut it. Yep...I cut it out by hand. A trick I learned while doing this is to cut the inside sections out first. I attached it to the card at the body then gently pulled the wings up.

Here is a different angel so you can see how it's attached.

Thanks for stopping by. Be sure to come back on Wednesday to see my sneak peeks. DeNami has some great new stamps coming out that you won't want to miss.

For My Grad & My Hubby

Do you know how hard it is to make cards, when the people you're making them for are always in the same room as you? I had to go stealth I'm telling ya. But I managed to create these cards. The first one is for our amazing daughter who received her associates degree. Next fall she will be starting on her bachelors. We are so proud of all she has achieved.

This one was for my hubby for Father's Day. I  had to keep it more generic because it was from me and our daughter. I love these colors together. For the side panel I stamped the stripes with my Three Line Boarder stamp from DeNami..LOVE this stamp. Then I used my chevron die and cut several strips and attached them with a small space between each one. Love how this looks and will be doing this again.

Hope you have a wonderful day.

CFC58 Pretty In Pink

Happy Friday everyone. It looks like we're going to have another wet weekend here. Two days ago it was over 95. I sure wish it would decide to be summer and actually stay summer. I'm stopping in with my card for this weeks CAS-ual Fridays card. The theme this week is Pretty In Pink.

I've had this pattern paper from Lasting Impressions for years. I got lucky and it just happen to match my pink I used on the die cut letters. For the sentiment I went through my stamps and mixed and matched. With some selective stamping I was able to come up with this.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a fabulous weekend.

ColourQ #142

Welcome back to another ColourQ challenge. I'll admit right off the bat..these colors were really hard for me. I don't know what the deal was. I seriously had half my stamp sets on my work station and created several cards before I finally settled on this one.

I don't have any Island Indigo paper so I had to substitute it with Enchanted Evening. I stamped the large marigold flower first, then I masked it off and stamped the two smaller flowers.

Here is this week's inspiration photo. Isn't that the cutest purse? So fun and cheerful for summer.
Hope you can join us this week. If you want some more inspiration be sure to stop by the ColourQ and see what the rest of the design team has created. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. You have until Sunday June 24th @ 12 noon CST to play along.

Happy Anniversary Big Brother

Happy Friday! I'm stopping in with a really quick post. Yesterday was my brother and sister-in-laws anniversary. Here is the card I made for them.

I got this stamp set for my daughter's upcoming wedding. Love it! I stamped it in Winter Wisteria then used a Copic marker to add some depth to it. For the background, I gently inked up my text stamp with my old Smokey Shadow ink. It's lighter then the new version. When I was inking the stamp I didn't worry about making sure the entire stamp was covered.

A Little CAS & A Sketch

I hope all of you had a wonderful weekend. Mine went by way too fast but it was a good one. In fact it went so fast that I almost didn't get my card posted in time for this weeks Freshly Made Sketches challenge. It wouldn't have been the first time I missed the cut off though. I was also able to do this weeks CFC56 ....polka dots. Here is my card.

This weeks sketch is great. I can see myself using this one a lot. I stamped the gift on a seperate piece of paper then cut it out and attached it with my dots to give it just a touch of dimension. I stamped the bow and then stamped it again without re-inking it. For my dots on the Simply Chartreuse paper I used VersaMark Ink.

See you soon,

With Deepest Sympathy

I've been making way too many sympathy cards the last couple of weeks. My daughter's friend from school recently lost her dad after a very long battle with cancer. His passing hit both us of pretty hard. For me, as a mom, I think of all the things he won't be there to see his daughter do. My daughter is getting married next summer and I can't imagine her dad not being there to walk her down the isle. Or to see her get her masters degree in a couple of years, or hold her children someday.

Give those you love a big hug today and tell them how much you love them while you still can. I pray God gives her peace and comfort during this very difficult time.

Stopping in with a quick post before I go watch So You Think You Can Dance. I love that show..wish I had some of those moves..haha. My card today is for this week restrosketches challenge.

Here is my card.

I inked up my new Crackled Mini stamp from PTI with Kraft ink. I really like how it looks. After I stamped the sunflower I added a touch of color with a Copic marker then fussy cut it. I know there is a die, but I really like to fussy cut :) I attached the sunflower with my dots for that touch of dimension I love so much.

Here is this weeks sketch.

ColourQ #140

Welcome back to another ColourQ challenge. We have another amazing color palette to work with this week. I started my card with a sketch from Freshly Made Sketches from a few weeks ago. I've made several cards using this sketch and love it.

After I stamped my flowers I added a touch of color with a Copic marker. It's just enough to give some depth to the flowers. When I was putting the card together I felt like one of the blue panels needed something, so I added polka dots with VersaMark ink.

This weeks colors:
I sure hope you can join us this week. Be sure to stop by The ColourQ and see what Arielle and the rest of the design team have created. You have until noon CST on Sunday to link up your creations.
