ColourQ #152

Is it really almost the end of August already? It's so hard to believe that summer will be coming to end soon. I'm a warm weather person so I"m a little sad to see it go.

I'm stopping in today with my card for this weeks ColourQ.

I loved the trees with the cirles on them in the photo so that's the direction I went. For the gray I used Papertrey Ink's Smokey Shadow because it's the only gray I have. It's a very dark gray so I stamped it off first.

Here are this week colors:
Isnt' that bedding cute? I hope you can join us this week. If your looking for some amazing inspiration stop by theColourQ

Autumn Birthday

Happy Saturday. It's the 25th and that means it's blog hop time over at Papertrey Ink. This month is all about Fall and beautiful textures. When I got home from work last night there was this beautiful box on my door step. My PTI goodness had arrived. Oh happy day:) And just in time for me to use some of my new goodies for this months blog hop. Thanks to the suggestion of Lynn, I'm linking this up to the Moxie Fab movement challenge as well.

Here is my card.

My favorite part of Fall is the changing colors of the leaves. For the green and brown leaves I stamped off some color before I stamped them on my card. Full strength was just too dark.

I die cut one leaf and attached it with my dots. It's just enough to give it a little something extra. I had it all put together and it was missing something, so I added the twine bow and button. I have a co-worker who loves leaves and her birthday is in November so I'm saving this for her.

Thanks for stopping by. I'm off to check out what everyone else has created. Have a wonderful day.

DeNami Product Spotlight

It's product spotlight time over at DeNami. Today we have this super cute Back to School Chickie to share with you. Instead of making a card, I decided to make a desk calendar. Wouldn't this be the perfect gift for a school teacher?

The base is 3 1/2 inches wide by 11 inches long. I scored the base at 1.5, 2.5, 3.5 and 7.25. I cut a piece of red cardstock 3.5 x 3.75 and attached it to the front of the base. I then cut a piece of white cardstock just a little smaller then my red one and stamped and colored the chickie at the top . You can get the actual calendars at Papertrey Ink, but I made my own. If you go to this post you will find the directions.

Well I hope you liked my project. If you're looking for some more great ideas be sure to stop by the DeNami blog and see what the rest of the design team have created. Remember the Back to School Chickie stamp is 10% off this week.

ColourQ #151

I hope all of you had a wonderful weekend. On Sunday I took my daughter to try on wedding dresses. Wow, what an emotional day that was. I held it together for the most part. I did have a couple of moments though. This was her first time trying on dresses. We went in thinking she would just try different ones on and see what looks best on her. We were doing great until....the dress. Oh it was so beautiful and just perfect for her theme. Yep, we came home with a dress. The wedding isn't until next August, but it's so nice knowing we have the dress and we don't have to worry about it. I would love to show you what she got, but sorry, you'll have to wait :)

Okay, back to business. It's Tuesday and that means it's ColourQ time! I instantly fell in love with this week colors.

Here is my card:

I kept my card pretty basic this week. I stamped the Dot Spot images in the various colors. For the gray I used Papertrey Ink's Smokey Shadow and stamped it off first.

Retro Sketches #24

I haven't been able to play along with any challenges for awhile now. It was nice to sit down this morning and get a chance to make a card for this weeks Retro Sketches challenge.

My hubby has the bar where I set up my photo tent full of computer parts, so I had to find another place to take my pictures. I don't get a lot of light in my house so this was a challenge in itself.

Here is my card.

My card is actually made from all left overs. I always cut and stamp more then I need and then save the extras. To bring in more white I cut a down my kraft card stock a little. The kraft panel as well as the flowers and leaves were attached to the card with my dots for a little extra dimension.

A Chance To Stamp & A Trip To The Beach

I'm on vacation this week and finally got a chance to sit down and play with some of my new stamps. Here is a card I made with Natural Beauties.

I stamped the base color of the flowers in Winter Wisteria and the second layer with Royal Velvet.

I hand cut the large flower and attached it with my Dots. The panel is attached to the card base with foam tape. I hand cut the butterfly and added just a touch of glue to just the center and gently pulled the wings up.

We went to the coast on Monday with my parents to go on a jet boat trip. The trip starts where the Rogue River runs into the ocean. We went 40 miles up river. We saw some beautiful wildlife, had a great lunch, went on one heck of a white water ride and got very wet.

Here are a few pictures.

This is me and my mom playing in the very cold ocean.

This is Emma, the boat driver's dog. She shared her seat with us...so nice of her. She goes on every trip with him. She slept just like this the whole trip. That's my dad's back she's behind.

This is my husband and our daughter at the beginning of the trip. Note how dry they are.

This is a little further into the trip. Note how wet she is.

This is my dad on the way back. We took the longer trip that went up into some of the white water. We got VERY wet.

The view from our seats. Oregon is so beautiful.

Thanks for stopping by today. Sorry if the post was a little picture heavy.

ColourQ #150

Happy Tuesday. I'm actually on vacation this week and at the Oregon coast right now. We are taking a jetboat trip on Jerry's Rogue Jets. My husband and I went last summer and had a blast. This time we are taking our daughter and my parents. I'll be sure to post some pictures when I get back.

Okay, on to this weeks ColourQ card. Arielle has giving us a bright and colorful pallet this week. I just got this stamp set from Clear and Simple Stamps and couldn't wait to use it.

Bright Bold & Beautiful

Welcome to this months DeNami blog hop! If you're following along, you should  have come from Ardyth's blog Maskerade. If not, and you want to start at the beginning you can go to DeNami.

Are you ready for some Bright Bold and Beautiful cards? I'll confess now..this was so hard for me. If you follow my blog, or have seen my work in the past, you know I don't usually do bright. But I went outside my comfort zone and came up with this card.

For my butterflies I did some selective stamping. I inked up each of the three butterflies in my three colors at the same time. Think of all the fun color combos you could do.

Your  next stop on the hop will be Linda. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of the blog hop.
When: The blog hop starts on August 12th at 6 AM, PST. However, you have until August 13, 2012, 11:59 pm PST, to leave comments on all the blogs (to be eligible for a prize).

Why: To be inspired by fun DeNami Design creations and also the chance to win mini shopping sprees on the DeNami Design website!

Prizes: We are giving away THREE $20 gift certificates to our website! We'll be giving away one gift certificate to a random participant (DT members not eligible) and then we'll also be giving away TWO gift certificates to TWO people who comment along the hop!

Product Spotlight at DeNami

It's time for another product spotlight at DeNami. For today's spotlight we are featuring the Open Box stamp. The possibilites are endless with this stamp. Think of all the fun things you can have coming out of this box.

I stamped the box on kraft cardstock then cut it out. To have the hearts look like they are coming out of the top of the box, I cut a slit in the top of it. This allowed me to tuck the first couple of hearts inside.

Here you can see how I attached the box and hearts to my card base. I love that added touch of dimension.
This stamp is 10% off this week so go add it to your cart. While you're there check out what the rest of the design team created using this fun stamp.

ColourQ #149

Happy Tuesday! It's time for a new set of colors over at the ColourQ.

I have to admit that I had a really hard time with this weeks colors. Don't get me wrong, they are great colors, but I just didn't have anything that matched them. So I did the best I could with what I had. I love the vertical rows of flowers on the bag so I pulled from that for my card.

I hope you can join us this week. Remember you have until 12 noon CST on Sunday August 12th to link up your creations. Be sure to stop by ColourQ  and see what the rest of the design team has created.

DeNami Sketch Challenge

It's time for a sketch challenge over at DeNami. Kanani has created a great one for us too.

Here is my take on the sketch.

One thing I love about DeNami stamps is the ability to selective ink them. On this card I inked up the grass and the stems with green ink and carefully avoided the heart flowers. Then I came back with my red ink and carefully inked up the flowers. I attached the white panel with foam tape to my red base and to finish off my card I added some twine and a button.

Here is the sketch:
I hope you can join us. I would love to see what you create with this sketch. You can check out what the rest of the design team has created here.

Restrosketches #22

Well we've made it halfway through the week. I don't know about you, but these Olympics are killing me. I've been staying up way too late watching them. Not to mention they are cutting into my craft time. I was able to find time to make a card for this week Retrosketches challenge.

Here is my card.

I just received my new PTI order and I'm so in love with the new The Sweet Life set. I can't seem to put it down. There are so many color combos you can do. We're going to a wedding this weekend, and I think I'm going to re-create this card and make a wedding card.
