Seize the Birthday #8

Happy Thursday! It's time for a  new challenge over at Seize the Birthday. This week we are making masculine cards.

Here is my card:

For my card I flipped the sketch. I needed the shape on the left side so I could to my sentiment the way I wanted to. I stamped my lines in the various colors, making sure I didn't go all the way to the bottom of the card.

This week's sketch:

For the month of February we have The Alley Way Stamps as our sponsor.

Alison at the Alley Way is offering a prize each week this month. This week's prize is the super cute "Tweet Spots" and it will be mailed to our winner this week, from Alison.

Here is my card:

These vases are so fun to do in bright colors. I stamped the larges vase first then created a mask so I could stamp the other two and the flowers. Using a Micron pen I added the frame. If you look close you can see pearls in the center of each flower.

This week's colors:

Muse Guest Designer

I am beyond excited to be the Guest Designer this week at Muse. When Jackie contacted me with the invitation, I about fell out of my chair. I've had so much fun playing along, and the inspiration each week has been amazing. I wanted to stay as true to my style as possible. If you know me at all, or have seen any of my posts, you know I love lots of white space and lots of dimension.

Here is my card:

I've used these flower on several of my past creations, and always love them. I added a touch of additional color to them using Copic markers.

Here you can see the different dimension.
I hope you can find some inspiration in my card. I can't wait to see what you create. Remember, the inspiration can come from the colors, layout, or anything else that may catch your eye. Be sure to head over to Muse and play along.

Here are the simple rules:
  • Use the Muse card as inspiration, explain your interpretation and link back to Muse.

I tried and tried to create a card using only this week's colors and none of the allowed neutrals, and I didn't like any of them. So I broke down and added some Crumb Cake to the mix...much better.

There is just something about theses flowers...I love them! I stamped the larger flower then came back with my other color and stamped the small flower in the center.

ColourQ #177

Happy Tuesday! It's time for this week's ColourQ challenge. Once again, Arielle has given us an amazing set of colors to work with.

Here is my card:

I'll have you know, I spent WAY to much time on this card. It took me a few tries to get the plaid stamped the way I wanted it. Once that was done it took for 4 tries to create a card that I liked using the plaid. Phew..finally came up with this one. My dad's birthday is at the end of the month so this is for him :)

CAS(e) this Sketch #15

I hope all of you had a wonderful weekend. It has been absolutly beautiful here the past couple of days. Not warm enough for shorts, but we did have the back door open for awhile. The bad part is I  know it's short lived. We still have lots of rain coming. I did manage to do some crafting last night and made a card for this week's CAS(e) this Sketch challenge.

Here is my card:

I actually had to break out the sewing machine for my card, and this is not an easy task. The machine I use was my great...yes I said great..grandma's. The thing weights a ton! But it still gets the job done. If it wasn't such a pain to get it out I might actually do more sewing on my cards.

This week's sketch:

Thanks for stopping by. I hope all of you have a blessed week.

Dynamic Duos #40

Hi there and happy Saturday. I'm stopping in with my card for this week's Dynamic Duos challenge.

Here is my card:

When I saw this week's colors, and the dessert option I knew right away what I wanted to do. I've had this umbrella set for awhile now, and it hasn't seen much ink. This challenge was the perfect opportunity to show it some love. The umbrella stamp doesn't have an outline to it, so I used my Micron pen to outline it. What a big difference a little pen can make. For my "rain drops" I used Glossy Accent.

This week's colors:
Thanks for taking the time to stop by.

Muse #4

I didn't think I was going to get to play along with this week's Muse challenge and I was really bummed. After dinner tonight the family was doing their own thing, so I took advantage of the time and headed to the Kloset :)

Here is my card:

I love the colors Therese used on her card, and if you follow me at all, you'll know that this layout is very similar to what I do a lot. That's why I wanted to play so bad. If you look really close at the green on the edges...it's stamped. This was something I've been wanting to try and this card layout was perfect for it. I don't have any stamps that would work for any kind of glass, so after some trial and error I came up with the vase.

Seize the Birthday #6

I'm here with my card for this week's Seize the Birthday challenge. It's week two so that means it's time to make some masculine cards.

Here is my card:

I was playing around with the different stamps in The Alley Way's set Awesome Blossom trying to create a background, and look what I came up with! Super fun right? And I'm thinking these would be really cute in some girl colors too. I stamped the image four times to create my wind wheel and colored them with Copic markers. I stamped some extra ones on a separate piece of paper and fussy cut them. It's hard to see in this picture, but every other piece of the wind wheel is a separate piece that I attached at the center then pulled the ends up.

 This week's sketch:

Once again we have The Alley Way stamps as our amazing sponsor this week.

Alison at the Alley Way is giving a great prize each week this month. This week's price is the the set "Holiday Sparkles" and will be sent to our winner this week, by Alison.

ColourQ #176

It's Tuesday, and that means it's time for this week's ColourQ challenge. This week's colors are amazing. I will be adding them to my list of favorites that's for sure.

Here is my card:

To create the frame I used a Lasting Impressions embossing stencil. To keep my stamping inside the frame I layed a piece of paper against the edge before I stamped. I stamped the two outside flowers on a separte piece of paper and fussy cut them. I attached them to my card with my dots. Because the embossing isn't so pretty on the back side, I cute the front panel a little smaller then the card base and attached it with foam tape.

This week's colors:
Thanks for stopping by. Don't forget to stop by the ColourQ and see what the rest of the design team has created with these beautiful colors.

Happy Valentine's Day

I'm stopping in really fast..before I go watch a movie with the fam..to post a card I just whipped up for this week's Freshly Made Sketched challenge.

Here is my card:

If I'm lucky my husband won't see this and I can give it him for Valentine's Day. It's always so hard to make cards for him. He spends a lot of time at his computer and it's in the same room as my kloset.

The sketch:
Thanks for stopping by...gotta go, the fam is rushing me. Don't they know these things take time?

Dynamic Duos #39

Happy Saturday! I hope all of you are having a wonderful day. I'm stopping in today with my card for this week's Dynamic Duos challenge. It's week two so that means we have some beautiful subtle colors for you to play with.

Here is my card:

At first I was a little worried about this color combo. My first thought was baby, but I just did one of those a few weeks ago, so I knew I didn't want to make another one. I tried a few different ideas before I finally came up with this card. To give the leaves the two shades, I used the stamp from the Turning A New Leaf set. I let that ink dry and stamped over it with the leaf from Embroidered Blooms. It makes it look like I used two colors of ink, but I didn't. For the stripes on the edge, I cut a piece of paper an inch wide and stamped the stripes at an angle. My card front is attached with foam tape and my flowers are attached with my dots.

Here are this week's colors.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you can join us this week. I always love seeing your creations.

Muse #3

I'm stopping in with my card for this week's Muse challenge. This week their inspiration card is from the very talented Laurie @ Soapbox Creations. I have been a huge fan of hers for a long time, so to get a chance to create a card based on one of her's...oh yeah..I'm there!

Here is my take on this week's inspiration card:

The colors Laurie used are amazing. I love the green patterened paper she used but couldn't find anything in my stash that looked right. I decided to make my own. Using a Cuttlebug embossing folder, I applied Lucky Limeade ink to the positive side of the texture. I gently placed the Lucky Limeade paper on top and ran it through my Big Shot. This took a couple of tries. I found if you get ink on any other part of the folder, like between the raised pattern, it will also show up and looks really bad. Laurie is who I originally discovered the rolled flowers from, so I decided to make a cluster of them in place of the felt flower.

Laurie's amazing card:

Seize the Birthday Design Team

The super sweet Leslie asked me if I would like to join the Seize the Birthday design team...and of course I said yes!! My plan was to slow down on crafting with my daughter's upcoming wedding. Everything is going so good that I'm still able to spend some good quality time at the Kloset. Insert happy dance here. So here I am with my first card for Seize the Birthday. If you haven't heard of this challenge yet here is how it works. You are given a sketch and the first week you create a feminine birthday card, then the next week you use the same sketch and make a masculine birthday card. Then we start over with a new sketch. Isn't this a great idea? Think of all the birthday cards you will have on hand.

Here is my card:

I've had this pattern paper for months and figured I should probably show it some love..haha. I stamped the flowers on the pattern paper and fussy cut them. I attached one with foam tape and one without for some dimension.

Here is this week's sketch:

ColourQ #175

Happy Tuesday. I hope all of you had a wonderful weekend. My 49ers didn't win the Super Bowl but that's okay, they played a great game. I'm stopping in today with my card for this week's ColourQ challenge.

Here is my card:

Love, love, love this week's colors. They are so pretty and I love the pop of orange in there. I made this card for one of my co-workers who will be leaving on the 15th. With the merger getting closer we are starting to see more and more leave. Some on their own, and others due to job displacement.

Here are this week's colors:

Make A Wish

Happy Super Bowl Sunday! Go 49ers!!! I figured I better get my card posted before the game started. I still have some food to prep too. It's just going to be the 4 of us, but we still need some substance to keep up going. So this will be a short post today. I spent the whole day yesterday..and I mean the whole day crafting. I got so much done, and it felt really good. My card today is for Seize the Birthday.
